Message From the Founder & President

I am extremely thankful to express the eventful history of our organisation, namely Kultali Milon Tirtha Society, a well-known Social Welfare Non-Govt. Organization, committed to make the overall betterment of the very poor, hapless, and backward class people of the Sundarbans. My life is no less than a fairy-tale since I was born in a very lower middle class farmer’s family in the remotest corner of the Sundarbans. Since my early childhood I witnessed and was deeply moved with the heard realities of grim poverty, endless sufferings, sorrows and pains of the day-to-day life of the people who are surrounded by salty water of the river and sweet soil of the largest delta in the world. Subsequently, with all my heart and soul, I promised to remove the painful obstacles, odds and hardship of the poor and backward classes of my area, which is far away from the smooth touches of the modern education system, women’s empowerment, and health, cultures of science, technology and economy of the world.

At last, with a zeal in my mind and an oath taken to myself, on 1st December, 1997, with the help of a few people of our locality, I formed an organization, our own Kultali Milon Tirtha Society; and, till date with our tireless efforts and tremendous tenacity, we are continuing various social welfare activities through our organisation to fulfil the sweet dreams of the common people, i.e. the poor inhabitants of the Sundarbans.
