SUNDARBAN KRISTI MELA O LOKO SANSKRITI UTSAB
BACKGROUND:

Kultali Milon Tirtha Society has been organizing Sundarban Kristi Mela O Loko Sanskriti Utsab in Sundarban area every year. The aim of the exhibition is to inform the students and the youths, academicians, scholars, scientists, farmers and general people about the latest development in the state and the country and achievements of different Government Department and Public Sector in their respective fields. The exhibition is attended by thousands of visitors including small industrialists, academicians, scientists, Government officials, traders, dignitaries, students, farmers and the youths who became enriched in regard to development in different field of activities of the Government.
A ten days long rural festival cum annual celebration every year we organize ‘Sundarban Kristi Mela O Loko Sanskriti Utsab’ of the fixed scheduled date 20 – 29 day of December since 1995. The Mega event is equipped with Government, Non-Government, Private Organizations Stall/ Pavilion and entertainment. The Mela Mancha is made for exchange of culture with other states of India.
We have also organized this festival with the help of different govt. department, corporate funding agencies, resource institutions and the beneficiaries. This programme was held for 10 days, farmers and artists from rural villages of Sundarban areas and south 24 parganas district took part in this event. Day by day this festival is becoming popular in the District.
HANDICRAFTS, MSME CORNER:
Over 140-160 exhibitors will take part in the Fair every year. The exhibitors have added in the effort to display the following gift and handicraft, MSME items, such as: Wood, Jute, Bamboo, Toys, Batik & various other handicraft products, Sundarban Kristi Mela O Loko Sanskriti Utsab, Platform to showcase local small and major entrepreneurs, cultural organization, artisans, handicrafts.
CULTURAL & EDUCATION PARK: (STALLS & PAVILIONS):
Central Government, State Government, Corporate Houses, Developers, Banks, Manufacturers, Retailers, Marketing Houses, and others conglomerate to Display and sell products, and profile to the enriched, capable and conscious citizens of areas.
BUYING & SELLING PARK:
In this park so many types of stationery goods, agricultural instruments and furniture had shown through various well decorated stalls.
AMUSEMENT PARK:
It was the most interesting park for the visitors. So many types of amusing instruments like Merry-go-round, Mikimouse, and Break Dance etc. were placed in this park to give whole hearted pleasure to the visitors. Games and play tools with different items for kind all children to enjoy.
FOOD PARK:
Food stall with mouth-watering food and snacks along with specialty dishes.
BADABAN PARK:
This zone had become one of the charming and attractive zones among all the zones of our fair. Our exhibition one of the performing folk arts competitions, namely Gramin Yatra was held every evening on this Mela ground at BADABAN PARK during the entire period of Exhibition to survive the lost folk culture and art of Bengal.
CULTURAL TALENT SEARCH:
Competition among local teenage and promising singers, Women mothers sports Competition, Sit & Draw Competition, Competition on Recitation involving children of different age groups with total participants of about 1000 Mothers & young artist in Sundarban area.
CULTURE FOR ALL:
Eminent Artists of West Bengal & Other States to perform Songs & Music, Drama, Recitation, Band , Folk Dance, Coir and other items for all section of viewers and listeners. Ten complete days of complete quality performance with elegance and eminence only in the evenings.
VIEWERS:
Apart from 12-18 thousands visitors at the stalls every day, 35 thousands capacity of viewers will throng daily, the temporary Hall & Galleries of the Evening Bonanza of course, Saturday & Sunday will attract more for convenience.
AWARENESS CAMP/SEMINAR/WORKSHOP:
Various types of Awareness camp or Seminar/Workshop - were about Agriculture, Fishery & Aqua- Culture and Saline Tolerant Crop, about Global Warming, Digital India, Science and Technology etc. we also organize a Passport Seva Camp with the help of Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, and organize of women’s sports in Sundarban Kristi Mela O Loko Sanskriti Utsab ground, camp on Identification of Handicapped peoples and certificate distribution, Blood Donation camp with the help of Department of Health, Govt. of West Bengal. To highlights of Activities of Government Organization, to increase awareness among common people regarding different Government Department, PSUs and Non-Govt. Sectors etc. to focus on creativity of the youngsters related to different Govt. Schemes through this Seminar cum Exhibition. To encourage cultural heritage and carrier options, to provide information regarding carrier related to Handicrafts, MSME etc. to generate better understanding about their product of West Bengal among young generation.

PURPOSE OF PROCEEDS:
The Exhibition-cum-Mela is purely educative with a view to disseminating information regarding nationwide development programmes to the people of Sundarbans, who are extremely background and poor. Through this festival, we try to act so as to relieve the wide spread distress in their life and also they acquire different knowledge from different exhibits. Thousands of people come from remote village of the Sundarban to visit and enjoy the recreational programmes. Our endeavor is to block and stop forced dropping of talents due to shortage of economic capability, of course according to our means and within our area of coverage.
BEHIND THE SCREEN:
Clubs, NGO’s, Cultural & Social organizations, and people from all walks of life with Elected Representatives together formed an Organizing Committee with eminent and responsible persons at the helm of affairs. 10 (Ten) Sub-Committees with several members and about 200 volunteers will act as organizers and event managers behind the mega event.

TARGET GROUP:
The Seminar cum Exhibition in connection with the various type of Educational & Cultural programme is to be conducted for the common people, NGOs, Panchayat and the younger generation and the college & school going pupils and from all parts of the Sundarbans of West Bengal.
